Congratulations to Janelle Pena RPN for being chosen Employee of the Month for June 2022!
Janelle is making a real difference in the lives of individuals needing care at home. A lovely man with ALS was able to come home, after months in the hospital, because Janelle stepped up to the plate to be part of his care team. She drives quite a distance to his house several times every week. When we started our pediatric nursing program with the LHIN, Janelle was one of the first nurses to come on board.
Janelle is extremely reliable, often stepping in to fill the void when another member of the team is unavailable. She is flexible and changes her schedule to meet the changing needs of her clients. Janelle is compassionate and empathetic, traits that have her clients feeling like she is part of the family.
We asked Janelle why she chose to work at The Care Company, and what is her favourite part of the job? Here is what she had to say:
"I have always known that I love to help people but I wasn't satisfied working in a hospital or LTC facility, because the environment is too fast-paced to spend enough time with each patient to really care for the whole patient. I find that working with The Care Company, I am encouraged to build relationships with patients and their families and have the time to really be there for people in their time of need."
